The power of music is a wonderful thing. It can effect your mood, change the atmosphere around you, bring back memories… Where would we be without it, eh?

Well if you’ve got a netbook, and a decent music collection (legal of course!), then you can easily turn your netbook into a portable music jukebox.

If you don’t have a music collection on your netbook, then there are some very easy ways to achieve that. There are many music subscription services available, where you pay a monthly subscription and can download as many tracks for personal use as you like.

You continue to have access to the music catalogue and those tracks for as long as you pay the subscription fee. Napster is an example of a company that provides such a service.

The other option is to purchase MP3 music via download, and there are many places you can to this - Amazon has recently started to offer this service, and Apple iTunes is another well known example.

So you’ve got the music, but now you need the right program to organise and play those top tunes. There are many available, but some of the better ones are Windows Media Player and WinAmp - although Napster offers a built-in player if you are a subscriber.

Finally, you need some speakers to bust those tunes out loud. Obviously with netbooks being portable devices, you’re not going to want a huge sub-woofer speaker in your back pack.

Don’t worry, as there’s a huge range of good quality portable speakers available (USA Store or UK Store). All you need to do is plug them into your netbook, and let the disco commence!
